Terms of Use
Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms govern your download, installation, and use of OneNotch. By using the App, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not install or use OneNotch.
About OneNotch
OneNotch is a macOS utility that can place clipboard history, media controls, Live Activities, timers, calendars, download progress, and optional AI-agent activity around the MacBook notch or menu bar. Availability depends on your Mac, settings, permissions, and connected apps.
Open-source license
OneNotch is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3. Your rights to copy, modify, and redistribute covered source code are governed by GPLv3. These Terms apply to use of the official App and website and do not reduce rights granted by that license.
Your device, content, and permissions
You choose which macOS permissions and optional features to enable. You remain responsible for content copied, stored, displayed, or reused through OneNotch, as well as the security, access controls, and backups of your Mac.
Acceptable use
Use OneNotch lawfully and with respect for other people, systems, and information.
- Do not use the App to violate laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Do not store, expose, or reuse confidential content without authorization.
- Do not interfere with macOS, connected apps, provider services, or other users.
- Do not use optional integrations to access an account, credential, or session you are not authorized to use.
Optional integrations and third parties
Features you enable may interact with Apple frameworks, websites used for link previews, GitHub and Sparkle for updates, LRCLIB for lyrics, media apps, local companion services, or AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms and availability.
Updates and beta functionality
OneNotch may add, change, suspend, or remove features, integrations, compatibility, and beta functionality. Experimental features may be incomplete or unstable, and no particular update schedule is guaranteed.
No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law and consistent with GPLv3, OneNotch is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, compatibility, or data preservation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OneNotch contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use or inability to use the App, including loss of data, content, business, access, or device functionality. Nothing here excludes liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Stopping use and changes to these Terms
You may stop using and uninstall OneNotch at any time. These Terms may be updated as the App evolves; material changes will be published on the website or communicated through another reasonable channel. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
