Smarter clipboard, Pick Color and importing from other apps

Import clipboard data from other apps, pick colors on screen and work with videos, links and codes in copied content.

New

  • Import clipboard history and pinned items from Paste, PastePal, PasteNow, Maccy and CopyClip (Pro). Duplicate content is skipped, and pinned items go to the matching Board.
  • Videos copied from Finder have a preview and a VIDEO label in the notch, Clipboard Panel and Library. The thumbnail remains when the original file is moved or deleted.
  • Type @video to filter videos.
  • Links and OTP codes inside copied text can be accessed directly from the right-click menu.
  • Pick Color: press ⇧⌘1 to pick a color anywhere on screen. Tab switches HEX/RGB/HSL/HSB; ⌘-click to keep picking colors (Pro). Change the shortcut in Settings.
  • Apple Music: the notch shows the next track a few seconds before it changes, with the track name, artist and a countdown animation.
  • AI agents have new loading indicator styles.

Improved

  • OCR responds faster on the first use.
  • The OCR result card below the notch is more compact, previews up to five lines and closes with Esc.
  • The Clipboard Panel offers “Copy and close” and “Paste and close” when clicking an item. A pinned panel stays open.
  • PNG, JPEG and GIF images keep their format in the clipboard, avoiding larger files or lost animation. Images copied from Finder show their file name and can be searched by name.
  • Delete clipboard history from the past 15 minutes, one hour, 24 hours or seven days instead of clearing everything. Items pinned to Boards are kept.
  • Smart Select has a new look and sits beside the end of the selected text in supported apps.
  • Calendar adjusts its height to the number of events. Click the event name in “Next up” to open its details.
  • Swiping between notch pages gives a light haptic tap when the gesture reaches the switching point.
  • Drag to add, reorder or remove controls directly on the player preview in Media Settings.
  • The live music waveform pauses while Low Power Mode is on to reduce load and save battery.
  • Pomodoro now offers more sounds.
  • Onboarding lets you enable Screenshot shortcuts, warns about macOS shortcut conflicts and prompts before you skip permissions.
  • Screenshot editing handles keep a consistent size at every zoom level, making them easier to use.
  • Changing the app language prompts you to restart immediately, in the language you selected.
  • Improved compatibility with Codex Auto Review.

Fixed

  • Fixed Codex appearing done while it was still running or had unfinished subagents.
  • Approval requests no longer stay pending after being answered in the terminal; fixed Claude asking for input when it had already finished.
  • Enabling Translation can show the translate button beside selected text without also enabling Smart Select in Utilities.
  • Fixed a crash when turning Low Power Mode on or off.
  • Fixed dragging files to the notch accidentally opening Mission Control.
  • Reduced CPU usage when Settings is open but idle.
  • Fixed restarting the app sometimes opening two instances of OneNotch.
  • Fixed unnecessary rebuilding of the area capture overlay, making Screenshot, OCR and Pick Color more reliable.

Multi-item drag and keyboard page switching

Drag several clipboard items at once, switch notch pages with Tab, and enjoy improved stability.

New

  • Drag several clipboard items at once from the notch and the Clipboard Panel. Select items with ⌘-click, or ⇧-click to select a range.
  • Drop several items on a Board to pin them all at once.
  • Press Tab or Shift-Tab to switch pages while the notch is open and the pointer is over it.
  • New "Edges open their own page" option in Interaction zones. When it is off, clicking or hovering anywhere on the notch opens the page set in "When the notch opens".
  • Two new clipboard sort options, "By App" and "Name (A–Z)", shared by the notch and the Clipboard Panel.
  • The Pin Board can now be renamed and given a new icon.
  • New "Floating Panel Preview" option in Settings › Clipboard › Appearance to turn the preview beside the Clipboard Panel on or off.

Improved

  • Smart Select translates standalone date words such as "tomorrow" or "Friday" instead of suggesting a new event. Phrases with a time or an event name, such as "Friday 3pm" or "Team sync Friday", still show the calendar card.
  • Smart Select cards include a Translate button that switches to the translation right in the card.
  • Smaller Smart Select badge. The translation panel shows language codes so language names are no longer cut off.
  • The text preview beside the Clipboard Panel shows the full content and supports selecting, scrolling and copying. Moving the pointer toward the preview no longer switches the item being viewed.
  • Redesigned passcode and Board create/edit prompts: they now appear in the middle of the Clipboard Panel, with a Cancel button and clear actions.
  • Copy Stack: click the count on an item to remove it from the stack; press Esc to clear the search, then filters, then the stack. The stack clears after you drag it out, so the same items are not pasted twice.
  • Dragging a stack with both text and images into Notes or TextEdit keeps all of the content, in the order you selected it.
  • Images copied from Finder drag out as the original file, keeping their name and format.
  • Smoother area capture animation, with no stutter on the first capture.
  • The capture preview panel (Quick Access), when placed in a bottom corner, now sits above third-party docks and floating toolbars instead of being covered by them.
  • The Send Feedback form fills in the email you used before, with a quick clear button, so we can reply to you. Support contact is now consolidated into Send Feedback and Report a Bug.
  • "Enable gestures" is renamed "Swipe down to open". Swiping down to open the notch is available only when "Open notch on hover" is off, to avoid accidental opening while hovering.

Fixed

  • Fixed the app freezing for a few seconds when copying or pasting with sound effects on, at launch, and when changing tracks.
  • Fixed the app appearing frozen after Check for Updates; the result now always appears in front.
  • Fixed the notch showing an old video after switching videos or tabs in Google Chrome.
  • Fixed seeking and playback controls for Google Chrome affecting another app, such as Spotify.
  • Fixed links in the Clipboard Panel losing their title and favicon after a while.
  • Fixed preview text appearing black and hard to read in a dark Clipboard Panel while macOS uses Light appearance.
  • Fixed the 100% label sitting off-center in the battery ring when connecting Bluetooth headphones.
  • Fixed the "Lock Board…" translation in 15 languages.

Music shortcuts and stability improvements

Open the playing browser tab from its artwork, customize screenshot shortcuts, and enjoy more reliable notch behavior across displays.

New

  • Click the music artwork to open the browser tab that is playing, in supported browsers with permission granted.

Improved

  • Screenshot shortcuts now focus on seven main capture actions; other tools are available from the Screenshot menu. Assign your own shortcuts for repeating the last area and capturing an area with markup.
  • OneNotch keeps its Dock icon throughout onboarding so you can return easily after switching apps.
  • With the menu bar icon hidden, reopening OneNotch from Spotlight or Finder opens Settings.
  • Menu bar icon hiding is disabled on macOS 27 due to compatibility issues.

Fixed

  • Fixed the notch disappearing when an external display is unplugged. OneNotch moves to the built-in display and returns to the preferred display when reconnected.
  • Fixed issues that could cause the app to crash on macOS 26.0.0.
  • Adjusted content spacing on displays with a taller notch so music controls, clipboard content and file drop areas remain visible.
  • Fixed Facebook artwork remaining visible when switching to YouTube playback in Safari.
  • Lyrics use the same tint as the track title when artwork-based colors are enabled.
  • Fixed difficulty interacting with the Screenshot menu in the menu bar.

Clipboard MCP for Boards and stability fixes

Organize Boards with AI agents, navigate the notch more easily, and enjoy more reliable music playback and clipboard interactions.

New

  • Clipboard MCP can list Boards and read their items. When allowed, agents can create Boards and pin or unpin several items at once. Boards with a lock remain inaccessible; agents cannot rename or delete Boards.
  • Swipe horizontally over the center of the notch header to switch pages.

Improved

  • Dragged clipboard cards shrink into a compact chip over the Board row, keeping the drop target visible in both the notch and floating clipboard panel.
  • Codex has a new animated cloud mascot.
  • Removed the introductory animation when opening OneNotch.
  • The floating lyrics panel keeps its selected player when another player starts. Closing the panel restores automatic player selection.

Fixed

  • Fixed a crash when interacting with clipboard Boards and their add button.
  • Fixed temporary app freezes when starting a screenshot or playing notification sounds, especially when an audio device was asleep.
  • Fixed premature “Task done” notifications while a Codex Desktop turn or its subagents were still running.
  • Automatic music selection now prefers an actively playing source over a paused one. YouTube playback no longer stays stuck on the notch after navigating away from the video.
  • Lyrics now show that they are being searched for instead of briefly reporting that none were found.
  • Adjusted AI Usage layout to keep content clear of the MacBook's physical notch.

Clipboard MCP and custom Snap Zones

Connect your clipboard to AI agents, choose your window layouts, and enjoy more reliable OCR, previews and screenshot editing.

New

  • Clipboard MCP lets Claude Code, Cursor and Codex search clipboard history, read copied content and write back when you allow it. Enable it in Settings → Clipboard → AI Agents; content from password managers, excluded apps and locked Boards stays hidden from agents.
  • Choose from 10 Snap Zones layouts and drag to add, hide or reorder the ones shown on the notch. Free supports three layout slots; Pro supports six.

Improved

  • Clipboard cards now have a preview button, with click or hover behavior selectable in Settings. The floating clipboard panel continues to preview items on hover.
  • Screenshot annotation and canvas zoom are smoother, with corrected watermark rendering.
  • Click the track title or artist to switch players. USB-C EarPods now support the middle-button playback control more reliably.
  • Removed unused images to reduce the app download size by about 23 MB.

Fixed

  • Fixed the app freezing on the first OCR capture and the recognition result failing to appear. Processing progress and empty-text errors now appear directly on the notch.
  • Photos copied from the Photos app are now saved as viewable images instead of unreadable files.
  • Fixed false “Task done” notifications while Claude was still working.
  • Adjusted Calendar, Focus Timer and translation layouts so their controls are no longer hidden behind the MacBook’s physical notch.
  • Restored dragging for the floating lyrics and translation panels on macOS 27.

Pill mode and locked Boards

A major update that brings OneNotch to Macs without a notch and puts more of your everyday work within reach.

New

  • Pill mode brings the full OneNotch experience to Macs without a notch, in a compact interface centered on the menu bar.
  • Lock individual Clipboard Boards with a passcode to protect their contents. Board locking is available to everyone, including Free users.
  • Drag files onto OneNotch to resize, convert or compress images, remove backgrounds, process videos, merge PDFs and extract ZIP archives.
  • Snap Zones let you drag a window onto the notch, choose a region and arrange it on your screen.
  • Start a Focus Timer in OneNotch. The countdown continues when the notch is closed and alerts you when the session ends.
  • Smart Select recognizes selected prices, measurements, time zones, dates, colors, calculations and links, then offers useful conversions and actions.
  • The new Supporter plan includes every Pro feature, activation on five Macs and a gold badge in OneNotch.
  • Create Reminders directly in OneNotch, alongside Calendar events, without switching to another app.
  • Hover over a clipboard item to preview it below the notch, then move between recent items without opening the full Library.
  • Send feedback from inside OneNotch and attach a screenshot to show what happened.

Improved

  • Clipboard Library has a rebuilt grid that makes large histories smoother to browse.
  • The AI usage page now shows costs, tokens, quota periods and richer Claude and Codex session details. OneNotch can alert you when an agent finishes or quota resets.
  • Apple Music lyrics now highlight words in time with the song. Music controls and player switching are clearer, with animated artwork when available.
  • Screenshot annotation gains easier cropping, an eraser and more flexible canvas controls. Link previews now show richer YouTube and TikTok content.
  • Choose which page opens first and rearrange notch controls. Clipboard browsing and notch interactions remain smoother after the app has been idle.
  • Pro now supports up to 20 Clipboard Boards with 200 items in each, alongside the 1,000-item history limit.
  • The Library viewer lets you enlarge any clipboard item, navigate with arrow keys and zoom images; image tools can pick colors and extract text.
  • Live AI agent previews now show the model, current step, tools used, working folder and Git branch. Session details make it easier to return to the right terminal.
  • Selected prices can be converted into another currency, with a remembered target currency and recent exchange rates available offline.
  • Music controls are available across notch pages, and the lyrics panel has quick playback controls. Wired headset media keys work more reliably.
  • Settings has been reorganized with clearer navigation and visual previews for key options, and more interface text is translated.

Calendar page and toolbar controls

This update brings a more complete Calendar experience to the notch, expands everyday controls, and improves Clipboard, Music, AI Agent, and overall performance.

New

  • Calendar now has a dedicated notch page with a month grid, event indicators, richer daily summaries, and support for displaying a secondary calendar.
  • View expanded event details, create, edit, or delete events directly, and open online meeting links from an event.
  • Customize and arrange the controls shown on the notch toolbar, including direct clipboard translation.
  • Create a new Pin Board directly from the notch.
  • Swipe horizontally over the audio icon while the notch is closed to move to the previous or next track.

Improved

  • Lyrics, clipboard editing and preview, and translation panels remain available above other apps in full-screen mode.
  • AI Agent setup states are clearer, including the difference between a missing command-line tool and an account that needs to sign in.
  • Added a setting to control anonymous usage-data sharing.
  • Reduced memory usage in several areas and optimized the application package for a smaller download.

Fixed

  • Clipboard Library can now display the complete history instead of stopping at 80 items. Clearing the entire history has been moved to Settings to reduce accidental deletion.
  • Resolved issues with lyrics controls, notch dismissal, Calendar navigation, and Screenshot permission detection.

Smoother tab swiping

A small update that streamlines Screenshot shortcuts and makes tab swiping more reliable.

  • Simplified Screenshot shortcuts by removing unused bindings and options for a more consistent experience.

Fixed

  • Improved swipe switching between tabs on the notch, reducing missed or conflicting gestures.

Screenshot, OCR and annotations

Screenshot arrives in OneNotch: capture, read text, annotate and share from one place.

New

  • Capture a region, window, full screen, or the last selected area, with advanced scrolling capture, smart element capture, and subject cutout.
  • Extract text with OCR, view recognized content directly on the notch, and detect links or QR codes without opening another app.
  • Edit captures with pens, markers, shapes, arrows, counters, text, crop, rotate, magnifier, spotlight, and watermark tools.
  • Protect sensitive information with blur, pixelation, redaction, automatic privacy detection, and translation directly inside an image.
  • Present screenshots with custom backgrounds, padding, rounded corners, shadows, perspective effects, progressive blur, and expanded backgrounds.
  • Combine multiple images on one canvas, freely arrange them, and undo or redo edits throughout the workflow.
  • Use Quick Access after capture to copy, save, delete, edit, or pin an image, then find it later in screenshot history or Clipboard Library.
  • Export as PNG, JPEG, or WebP with compression controls and a preview of the resulting file size.

Improved

  • Screenshot shortcuts, menu bar controls, permission guidance, settings, scrolling capture, and the annotation toolbar are more flexible and polished; Screenshot can also be disabled completely.
  • Translation can switch providers when the current provider fails, and replacing selected text with a translation now works more reliably.

Fixed

  • Resolved interface conflicts between calendar alerts and translation, added Escape support for closing the clipboard panel, and improved performance and stability across the app.

Meeting alerts under the notch

Get alerts beneath the notch before calendar events, and join the call in one click.

New

  • Get alerts beneath the notch before upcoming calendar events, with configurable lead time, snooze duration, sound, and calendar selection.
  • Join Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Whereby, and Jitsi meetings directly from an event alert.
  • Include timed Reminders in notch alerts, then mark them complete or snooze them without opening the Reminders app.

Improved

  • Clipboard Library remains smoother with large histories thanks to more efficient grid rendering and thumbnail loading.
  • Live Activity and Bluetooth device icons are clearer and more recognizable.

  • Resolved reliability issues affecting clipboard images, Boards, and background activity.

iCloud Sync and clipboard translation

iCloud Sync keeps clipboard history available across your Macs, together with direct clipboard translation and a more polished Library experience.

New

  • Sync clipboard history privately through iCloud across your Macs, with controls for image syncing, manual sync, and removing the cloud copy without deleting history on the current Mac.
  • Translate text clipboard items directly, or extract and translate text from copied images using OCR.

Improved

  • Deletions remain consistent across synced Macs, while items pinned to Boards stay protected when clearing clipboard history.
  • Clipboard Library adds copy-time information, clearer link previews, back and forward navigation, smoother masonry browsing, and better accessibility.
  • Creating and managing Boards now uses a clearer and more polished interface.
  • Clipboard images on the Free plan now follow the normal history limits instead of being removed by a separate storage cap.

Fixed

  • Improved stability and recovery after interrupted or incomplete iCloud transfers, together with fixes for issues found in recent crash reports.

Clipboard Library

Clipboard Library adds a dedicated workspace for browsing, organizing, and reusing clipboard history.

New

  • Open Clipboard Library in its own window from the menu bar to browse all items, Boards, source apps, and date groups.
  • Switch between grid, masonry, and list views, adjust card size and sort order, and keep an inspector open for quick review.
  • Preview clipboard images, files, links, text, and colors in a larger lightbox or inspector without losing your place.
  • Copy color clipboard items in HEX, RGB, or HSL formats directly from their preview.

Improved

  • Scrolling and loading stay smoother and more responsive while browsing larger clipboard collections.
  • OneNotch version and build information is now visible directly in the menu bar menu.

Fixed

  • Accessibility permission status no longer reports a lost permission on every launch when it has not been granted.

Dict: dictionary and Quick Translate

Dict brings a complete dictionary and Quick Translate experience to the notch, with speech, in-place replacement, flexible controls, and further performance improvements.

New

  • Look up words and translate selected text without leaving the current app, with results displayed directly on the notch.
  • Explore detailed entries with pronunciation, definitions, parts of speech, synonyms, related meanings, and examples when available.
  • Listen to source text and translations with built-in text-to-speech and more natural voices, including for longer passages.
  • Replace selected text in the current app directly with its translated version.
  • Open results in a dedicated panel beside the selected text, keep it pinned while working, or dismiss it instantly with Escape.
  • Switch translation engines from the result and configure selection shortcuts, automatic pinning, result placement, and apps where the translation button should stay hidden.

Improved

  • Quick Translate no longer has a usage limit.
  • Clipboard capture now performs substantially less work on the main interface thread, reducing pauses when copying from browsers, Excel, Figma, and other complex apps.
  • Keyboard shortcuts, media keys, and clipboard actions remain more responsive during heavy activity.

Fixed

  • Quick Translate detects selected text more reliably in Chromium-based browsers, and clipboard notifications no longer appear when nothing new was copied.

More clipboard tools, better lyrics

A major update that significantly expands clipboard tools and improves music controls and lyrics across OneNotch.

New

  • Clipboard items can now be edited directly in a dedicated window.
  • Added 15 quick text tools, including letter-case conversion, JSON formatting, encoding and decoding, naming-style conversion, sorting, and duplicate-line removal.
  • Export and import clipboard history together with all Boards for backups or migration between Macs.
  • Search clipboard history by source app using the @ filter and app suggestions.
  • Arrow-key navigation now previews the selected clipboard item automatically. Press Tab to switch quickly between All Items and pinned Boards.
  • Lyrics can now open in a dedicated panel that stays fixed on screen while you use other apps.
  • Switch the active media player directly from the notch when several apps, such as Spotify, Apple Music, or a browser, are playing media.

Improved

  • Increased the Pro clipboard history limit to 500 items.
  • Lyrics stay in sync more accurately when changing tracks or seeking in Spotify and Apple Music, and the lyrics panel closes automatically after playback stops.

Fixed

  • Claude usage information updates more reliably, and stale AI activity is no longer shown incorrectly.

Smarter code previews

Smarter code previews, easier in-app help, and more reliable media and Copy Stack behavior.

New

  • Copied code is now automatically recognized and syntax-highlighted in clipboard previews across common languages and formats.
  • Open step-by-step Guides or contact Support directly from the new Support section in Settings.

Improved

  • New installs now keep the menu bar icon enabled and skip the launch animation by default for faster access.
  • Improved internal reliability for a more consistent experience.

Fixed

  • Copy Stack leftovers no longer replace a fresh copy after collection has ended.
  • The live audio waveform now falls back gracefully when audio capture is unavailable instead of appearing frozen.
  • AirPods and other Bluetooth connection alerts are now detected more reliably.

A clearer first run

A clearer first-run experience with guided video previews, plus more reliable clipboard cleanup.

A substantial update with smarter live alerts, a smoother first run, broader language support, and deeper everyday polish.

  • Choose compact or detailed alert panels, with refined layouts that keep important information clear at a glance.
  • Enjoy a completely refreshed onboarding flow and a polished launch animation that can be turned off in Settings.

The first OneNotch

The first version of OneNotch: a clipboard that lives in the notch, AI agent status, and a refreshed first run.

New

  • Clipboard on the notch: arrow-key navigation, ⌘1, ⌘2… to jump to items, sorting and deleting, and clearer labels and previews for files, images, SVG and links.
  • Copy text from images with OCR, inspect items in a dedicated preview panel, and search copied text on Google or copy a normalized version from the right-click menu.
  • See the active model and running subagents, and switch between Codex and Claude with chevron controls when both are running.
  • Choose apps whose copies are never saved, turn off the Media or AI Agent page, hide the closed notch while idle, and recognize 6-character hex colors without #.
  • A new, expanded onboarding with updated translations.
  • Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
